This installation born after some arguments about one of the most important instrument of industrial age: the conveyer belt. We used this instrument to represent the main element of the assembly line and like a link to the context of Zeche Zollverein, in relation with evolutionary process of society (the pass from industrial age to contemporary time).

We thought about a parallelism between the conveyer belt and the net. The conveyer belt, how the basically element of the production, is present in every phase of its. The net how the big development of relationship sistems after computer arrival.
Both the conveyer belt and the net are a LINK : the conveyer belt from beginning to end in the industrial process see the passing of the production components, following the creation of the object; the net looked like the most important instrument of the computer age: we live in a big superior linking net.
Both the conveyer belt and the net determine a PASS: while different components in the productive process pass on the conveyer belt, generating finished product (objectivity), different informations and uman relationships pass on the net (subjectivity).

This installation tell about the pass from an industrial and objective landscape (I live because I function), to a contemporary and subjective landscape (I live because I inform).

INTRO PASS is divided in two part: one dedicated to the industrial world, with a defined way, the other dedicated to the contemporary world, with the possibility of choosing some different alternatives. The visitor is like a key with the double purpose to start the working mechanism and to give and to get answers to the questions of the contemporary age.
In the first part the visitor is leading by a real conveyer belt in a close leaning corridor , where his shadow will be projected on a cloth defining the space. In the second part, from the bidimensional rigid and flat sistem of the conveyer belt, born a new tridimensional and dinamic sistem where perform relationships and informations. The conveyer belt will change in a net of situations characterized by a plot of new ways usable by the visitor.
